1974 Javelin AMX. The ultimate Javelin.


1974 AMC Javelin AMX

1974 would be the sixth, and last, year of production for the Javelin. In those six short years the American Motors Javelin would win two Trans-Am Championships, a Trans-Am Manufacturer's Cup and numerous other racing accomplishments. But it couldn't hold off the inevitable demise of the Muscle Car era. There would be no AMX in the AMC model line for 1975 and 1976.


Standard: a 304 V-8, disc brakes, slot-styled wheels, a rear deck spoiler and more.

Optional: things like a 401 V-8 "Go" Package, "Rally-Pac" instruments and twin-grip differential.

Put it all together and you've got a truly tough performance car.

Our AMX instrument panel with the engine-turned dash and "Rally-Pac" instruments: Oil pressure and ammeter gauges, tachometer and clock combination (Tick-Tach) and 140 mph speedometer. Very performance conscious and very functional.

  • Rally-Pac instruments (V-8 only) including ammeter gauge, oil pressure gauge, tachometer/clock combination ("tick-tach") and 140 mph speedometer
  • Torque-Command automatic transmission
