Let's see.....57086 Javelins and AMX's built in 72/73 and only 4152 of them were Pierre Cardin models.....7.2% of total production.
Only 1420 401 powered AMX's built in 1973 and just for argument's sake let's say 7.2% were Pierre cardin models.............102 in total.
Purely speculation of course but it's probably a pretty rare piece in the grand scheme of production numbers.

Wow...where'd you get those numbers? I have a 401 from 73, and have been wondering for a long time how many of them had 401s from the factory.

If you go to theamcforum website, look under "Restoration" and there's a line that says "Original Documentation", click on that and go to the very last post, there's numbers there from 1968 to 1974, it's easy once you figure out which model is yours. What's really funny is that my 72 Javelin SST with a 258 has a lower production number than my 73 401 AMX
In 73 the were only 386 Javelins (79-7) made with the 401 and 1420 AMX's (79-8)
