New Entries Accepted for Sunday Morning Qualifying at NSCA New Jersey Drags

Atco, NJ - Despite the dreary forecast by the meteorologists, the NSCA completed two full rounds of qualifying before the wet stuff put an end to the day at the NSCA New Jersey Drags at Atco Raceway. Judging from some of the incredible passes made, the record book will be rewritten if the racers can take full advantage of the cool near sea level air and the tricky track surface.

Vinny Budano was once again at the top of the Dart Pro Street ladder with a strong 6.38 followed closely by Pat Musi's 6.40. Musi made his strong return behind of the wheel of his new '06 GTO. Jarod Wenrick's ProCharged Camaro took the third slot and the 1/8th mile centrifugal record with a 4.14 in the eighth. Look out when he figures out the back half of the track. It's gonna fly! These three racers will be duking it out for both ends of the record and the winner's purse in a very strong ten car field.

Precision Turbo Super Street is an all out war with thirteen entries. In a battle of power adders, defending champion Elliot Thompson is going head to head with the wild blown ride of Canadian Rocky Dilecce and turbocharged locals Joe Newsham and Jerry Morgano! Newsham laid down an amazing 211-mph blast and Morgano is working the bugs out of his now twin turbocharged Ford powerplant. In the NSCA's quickest naturally aspirated class, Larry Perkins astounded BES Pro Comp fans with a wild wheelstand in the first round and then an 8.45 at 157-mph in the second to totally decimate Jeremy Harris' 8.57 record! Grumpy Jenkins obviously did find him some power on the dyno.

A third round of qualifying will be added to the program at 10am Sunday morning. The gates open at 8am and new entries will be accepted in all classes adding even more excitement to the program! For more information about the NSCA, visit their website at www.nsca-racing.net There are classes for everyone. From 18 seconds and faster!!!

Spectators, come on out for some of the fastest door cars on the planet. Sunday's weather looks much better!!!
