Default Any idea on how to restore a painted door tag

Ok, I have been thinking about this for a while, but have not been able to come up with a solution. I know that people are selling new door tags, and while that is an option... I would prefer to find a way to restore my original tags back to their original splendor. I have thought of using heavy duty paint remover, but I worry that it will also remove the original paint on the tag. While I could just leave them, I would like to restore them if possible. Anyone had the same problem? How did you solve it?

Paint remover will remove the original paint. I'm not sure of a solution, maybe ask someone in a local bodyshop??

I was thinking pretty much the same thing, but I have also been wondering if I would be able to repaint it so that no one would ever know. I am not a fan of repainting the tag, but I am less of a fan of replacing it.

Super-gentle swabbing with a Magic Eraser? You could control the paint break-through that way and not rub too much off (maybe).
