    Default 401 Bellhousing

I've got a busted up bellhousing in between a 401 and a T-10. Is this bellhousing interchangeable with the full range of AMC V-8's? I hope so, it'll sure help finding a replacement. Any help will be appreciated!

I think so, But I am not 100% sure, A bell behind any AMC V8 (maybe six too?) should be the same to my knowledge, but I could be wrong.

    Default Bell housing to Engine

All V-8 bellhousings are the same on AMC cars. The 6 cylinder will not work because they are not of the same depth measured from the back of the engine to the beginning of the transmission itself. I believe that the input shaft on the V-8 is longer and beefier therefore you would need the right bellhousing for the V-8

correct, must use V-8 bellhousing,6 cyl trans has shorter input shaft.also 6 cyl bellhousing bolt holes for trans will not be for the T-10 four speed
