X-perience AMX 66 - 70

Hello all. I live in the Cincinnati Ohio area. This is my '69 I bought in 1985. It has a 343 4V with a TorqueFlite Automatic ( I cheated and used a 360 Crankshaft). Fill it up with pump premium, drive it to the track, bolt on the 26" x 8.5" Mickey Thompson ET Drag slicks, and the car will run the quarter mile in 12.69 seconds @ 105 MPH. These times are run with full 2.5" exhaust, 3000 Stall, 3.73 Gear, and an air cleaner. This car has been an awful lot of fun ever since I got it 16 years ago. I'm glad to see your web site and all the other people who also enjoy these cars. You can see more pictures and information on my homepage at: http://mywebpage.netscape.com/sketchkt/homepage.htm

Here is a photo of my 68 AMX. I bought the car used in 1970 and used it as a daily driver for almost twenty years. I put a 70 hood on it, flaired the wheel wells (grit from the tires was eating the paint) and put on a rather unique paint job in 1971. About five years ago I rebuilt it from the ground up. Instead of returning to stock I returned it to it's 1971 appearance. I built it for me and will never get rid of it as long as I'm alive.

Michael Young---This is My AMX, it has been in my barn since 1975. I bought it on my 21 first birthday as a Dealer sponsored drag car. It had a window sticker price of $8900.00 which I payed $4200.00 for to run it at the strip on the weekend. It turned a 11.90 et at 117 mph. I had so much fun in this car that I vowed to never sell it, but now it's time to get her back out of the barn.
I need the help of a good old friend, Harold Lehman.

This is my 1970 AMX that I bought when I was 17. Since I bought it, a new paint job was done to the completed car and the wheels. The car was painted matador red with the black shadow mask. The magnum wheels were repainted to match the stock appearance. It is powered by a 360 automatic, and am always looking for ways to give it more horse power and make it faster. I am now 19 and am finishing up the work on it in when I have spare time from college. I have a grill that I restored and a couple of other little finishing touches to add.

This is my 1970 AMX. I bought it back in 1980, drove it for a few years and then parked it until last year when I started to rebuild it. Another year or so and hopefully I will have it on the road. Its mostly stock except for a few changes. It has the 390 with a Tremac 5 speed, four wheel disk brakes and coil over carrera type front suspension.
