Can somebody tell me what the difference is between the A904 trannies for the 6 version and the V8 version? I've been told the bolt pattern is the same but the bell is shallower along with a shorter input shaft. Is that correct? If so then why wouldn't the 6 version bolt to the back of a V8?
Thanks,
Darren

i think that only applies to manual transmissions as that is 100% true for manual trans.i do not think that is the case for automatics although the six will probably use a smaller diameter torque converter but the length should be the same

i have done it before. i took a pacer 904 and bolted it to the back of my 304 gremlin. works fine. just make sure that the starter is on the rite side. i think they changed it somewhere in time!!
