Tinted vs Clear windshield replacement

Hello, I need to replace my windshield. I can special order a "clear" glass replacement I suppose; however, most local shops have the replacement windshield for my 74 AMX Jav in tinted with the darker strip along the top. Has anyone opted for the tinted replacement and, if so, did it make any real difference in appearance given it wasn't clear? Thx! Joe

Have you tried checking YT for DIY Tutorial? I did follow someone there about window replacement.
