Engine Help

I have taken over a '69 AMX project.

The engine block has 401 stamped on it with a 4.080" bore. Is it a 360 or 401?

I also think that the engine has the original 390 harmonic balancer and flywheel on it. Do all AMC engines share the same balance?

I am new to AMC's so please excuse my ignorance.

If your engine is cast 401 it's a 401.

Do all AMC engines share the same balance?

No, they are externally balanced and flywheels, harmonic balancers etc do not interchange, even if they are the same displacement and year.
