does anyone know why some 70 AMX grilles are totally black, while some have 4 silver (or maybe chrome) stripes running horizontally across? I've seen original ads with both. Thanks for your help.

Many have debated that for a long time. There seems to be no rhyme or reason.

Just a change for who knows why. There are three different grille styles for the '68s and '69s. My guess would be cost savings, but that's just a guess.
