Fuel Pump
Anything special about changing a fuel pump? 69 AMX/343. thanks

Not much to it... make sure the lever points down as you insert it. You may end up with it over the cam lobe and over drive the arm. Which can break off. If you have a vacume top pump make sure you get the right pump.

Thanks 304_Dude. What do you mean by "vacuum top pump". I know it is just the standard factory fuel pump. It there some else about it I should be looking for? Thanks!

By "If you have a vacume top pump make sure you get the right pump.", do you mean whether I have electric or vacuum wipers?

Vacum Top Pump
The vacum top pump was on the fuel pump for cars that came with vacum windsheild wipers. The top of the pump operated and provided vacum for the wipers when they were turned on. In some circles it was also called a dual action fuel pump. If you have a standard pump, this would mean that you have electric wipers verus that of the vacum ones. AMC used vacum wipers for many years after the advent of electric wiper motors and were standard issue on their cars up to about 74 or 75. They were many years behind the curve of making electric wipers standard issue.
