AC Repair Problems

HELP Guys!!!

Just purchsaed a 72 SST. Super great shape "except" for the AC unit. Can't find anyone in Nashville who will touch it. They are all scared because it's AMC and not familiar with it. Any ideas or know of anyone (shop) close to Nashville who might tackle it? MANY THANKS, Jim in Nashviile

I don't understand why they would shy away from an AMC A/C system unless it's because it is an R-12 system. But that doesn't make a whole lot of sense either. The York compressors that AMC used were used on the Jeep line too. There's a lot of those systems out there.
You may want to pick up a Technical Service Manual for your car to get the specs for a tech if they need/want them.
