amx wiper motor removal and restore
Would like to remove the wiper motor on my 70 amx, nothing in service manual as to procedure. Also, can I disassemble myself and have plating done, or should that be left for a professional. Finally, colors, please. Thanks in advance

Simple removal procedure. 1) Disconnect the wire harness plug from the wiper switch and feed it through the firewall. 2) Remove the attaching screws from the wper motor mounting plate to the firewall. 3)Gently slide the assembly foward and use a thin screwdriver to remove the clip that attaches the wiper arm transmission arms to the wiper motor. The backing plate and wiper motor are supposed to be a gold cadium color. There are a couple of companies that restore them back to factory specs. You can buy cold cad paint from Eastwood and refinish it yourself. The wiper transmission arms (the ones inside the cowl) are also done in an cadium finish with more of a greenish tint. Hope this helps.

Do you know anywhere the greenish cadmium can be obtained?
