Has anyone been successful finding and changing over the stock A/C to something more comfortable, colder and powerful ??

I'm not sure you can get colder or more powerful than a properly working stock system. When the fan is on high it darn near creates a wind inside the car. And they will frost up the compressor. Did you read this thread? http://www.amx-perience.com/forum/sh...-C-Rebuild-tip
