Hi, Tony Lucas here from British Columbia Canada. I just brought home my 1970 AMX this weekend and would love to see it on your site. It is a 360 Auto with A/C. Glenn Green with black interior. Over the next couple of years she will be restored after sitting for 12 years with a previous owner. I have wanted one of these for 16 years and now I have 2! This one and a parts car that came with it! Great site and I KNOW I will be getting some "stuff" from you over the next couple of years!

I found this mint 1968 AMX at a car show with 18,000 original miles in 1995. I fell in love with it immediately. I have always had AMX's and Javelins-AMX's, but this car was the cleanest, most beautiful unrestored car that I had ever seen. The car even had the original key chain case from the AMC dealer, original redline tires and spark plugs! I begged the owner to sell it to me, but he refused. However, I gave the owner my phone number and 3 years later he called me, and I was able to purchase it. The car now has about 24,000 miles, and I take it to local car shows where it is usually the only AMX (or AMC) out of 500 cars. Thank you.

Hello, I want to start off saying that this is NOT my car, nor was it ever MY car. This AMX was owned by my now ex-step-father. I was in elementary school at this time. I absolutely LOVED this car. There was no back seat or seat belts. When we went places I simply rode in the back. It was/is the most glorious car around. I believe it was a 1968, but I could be wrong considering I was not born until November 29, 1969. I feel I was cheated out of one of the greatest eras, muscle cars. I have this picture, I cherish this picture and I someday will find myself an AMX to call my very own.

Hi, I think you have a great AMX web site. Keep it up!!! Here are a few pictures of my 1968 AMX. My father had it for the past 14 years and I decided to buy it from him. It's a 390, 4-speed with the Go-Pack.
Thanks, Todd

Here are some pictures of my 1970 AMX. It was a 360 Automatic with 90K when I bought it back in 1979. I replaced the 360 with a slightly built 390 and a built Chrysler Tourqeflight tranny. The car had black leather, air, as far as I could tell had a replaced quarter panel. I found it totally by accident at a small car lot in Tacoma Washington after my 70 Javelin had been almost totaled by a stoned guy running a red light. The brown 1969 is a friend of mine's and had a very built 401. This car turned 12:90 in full street trim and ruled the roost in the Tacoma/Puyallup area for a few years as none of the Chevy boys could take him. This was around 1980-82. Thanks for your site. Brings back great memory's.

Our 1970 AMX took us three years to restore. She won gold in 2000 Nationals, gold in 2001 and 2002 Regional's. She won drivers choice trophies at two shows 1970 to 1977 muscle car class. She has 5 First place, 4 second, 3 third, Three club choice awards and numerous Cruise Trophies. She did all this in Chevy Country. I'm so proud of our car. My husband and I did all the restoration except for the seats. (I have to learn how to do that.) My husband and I hope that AMC lives on forever. They are beautiful cars and God Bless them all and the people who restore them.

This is my 5th AMX in my lifetime. My first New car was a 1969 AMX Regatta Blue and Platinum 390 4sp Go-Pack car. It is still in my area with only 29000 miles but the guy who owns it will not sell it and it is justing sitting in his garage with no engine in it. My next AMX was a 1968 343 auto white with black. Then a 1970 gopack ram air, 4 sp, air and leather car with sidepipes and machine wheels. BBG shadow mask and black (should never have let that one get away). I purchased the car in the picture 10 years ago. It was a great driver with only some rust behind the rear window and the very back and bottom of the rear quarter panels. This car was restored over the past year. Then another 1969 4sp car green with charcoal leather that was my show car that burnt up due to an electrical short caused by gauges installed by the previous owner. Please include the pictures you want in AMX Owners and you have the numero uno AMX site.
Thanks
Jim

Here is my 1968 AMX. I recently had the body stripped down to the metal and repainted Big Bad Blue. ( I know, it's a 1969 & 1970 color ) No rust and no body damage! It has 72,000 miles and runs like a champ. The tires and rims are new additions as well as air shocks and a Flowmaster exhaust system. The engine is stock. This is my second AMX, the first one was back in high school.
