I live in Denver, CO, here are the pics of my 1968 AMX. The production number is 120, these pics are before and after. It has a very built 390 (actually a stroked 401) with a 4-speed. The Crane cam has a 568 lift,304 dur. on a 108 degree center line, 4 angle valve job, Crane triple "Battleship" springs, I could go on and on. It turned a 12.6 Quarter mile, in street tires, in Colorado altitude. During the time I owned it, I was undefeated. While I was selling it, I had one guy ask me to let him out, about 4 blocks away from his car, after he had asked me what it was capable of doing, and I showed him. Someday I'll own another one, but I'll hang on to it this time. Thanks for your site. Brings back great memory's.

Here are pictures of my 1969 AMX. I purchased the car in Aug. of 1986 while stationed in Monterrey, California. The car had been in storage since 1977 and the original Black and Gold plates were still on the car. I scraped the stack of decals from the rear plate and found the first decal was 1969. The car is a Matador Red 390, 4 speed, 3.54 posi, Power Steering, Power front disk brakes, Go-Pak. It has the Hurst round bar shifter, hooded dash, AM/FM radio, Tilt steering column, remote drivers mirror and matching passengers mirror, glove box light, trunk light, electric windshield wipers and washer, headlight warning buzzer and the original inflatable spare tire. The car came with the original ralley wheels but has AMC wire wheel covers mounted on the ralley wheels. The car has 49,000 original miles on it and has the AMX number of 09061.

Thought I'd send a photo of my 1969 AMX, Go-Pak, 390, auto. I believe that it is the only other original factory pink car other than the Playmate's car. The paint code is 00 denoting a special order. The car has Charcoal leather interior and shows 78,000 original miles.

This is our newly restored 1969 AMX. This car has significant sentimental value to us, as I owned my first AMX in 1969 when I started going with my wife of 32 years. This AMX has a 390 CID engine with several added goodies, and 4 speed transmission with a Hurst Shifter. This car took 3 years to restore to this modified reproduction of the die cast model. The restoration of this car is detailed in our website, www.2ndAMX.com We are now enjoying taking it to cruises and car shows throughout the Midwest and especially enjoy showing it to the many people who have never seen an AMX before.

1968 AMX - Dash #00742 - 390 Go Pack, 4-Speed, Rally Pack, Tilt wheel, Power steering, Power disc brakes, right and left outside mirrors, AM/FM Radio, Electric wipers, Heavy duty alternator, Heavy duty cooling, Rear bumper guards, Magnum wheels with red line tires, Wood grain steering wheel, Bucket seats with head rests, Sure grip rear end, day and night inside rear view mirror, Tinted glass all windows, Tachometer, Light group and more. This car was for sale at a local cruise night in the Boston Ma area on 8/15/03 when my wife and I spotted it and had to have it. It is a rust free California car with 53K original miles and it had just undergone a complete rotissirie restoration. The undercarriage is detailed perfectly as well as the under hood and trunk compartment. It is a complete #'s matching car. I would like to hear from other AMX owners as well, Please e-mail me your thoughts to Challenger1@comcast.net
Thank you, - John

Here are a few pictures of my 1968 AMX 390 Go Pack with a 4 speed, which is still a work in progress. I bought it 2 years ago from a kid who had it cobbed together with a lot of junky add-ons and tried to rebuild the engine but failed. I have been steadily putting it back to a original-like condition and removing the non-stock items. The Donohue spoiler, hooded dash and air breather are the only non-vintage item left to remove. The Hialeah Yellow color with the black stripe is the original color for the car. The 390 engine now runs great with a mild cam, manifold and headers. The car was put together enough to go to Hot August Nights in Reno this year where it turned a lot of heads. It is signed up for 2004 as well. I had a 1970 AMX with a 360 in high school and have wanted another AMX ever since. This car has definitely satisfied my mid-life urge for now!!! Thanks for the GREAT website!!!

This is my 1970 AMX 390. I've had it about 7 years. The engine has 1,000 miles on a .040 over rebuild. The suspension is done. Interior and bodywork are coming, I just take it one day at time.

Here are some pics of my restored 1969 AMX. It took me one year to complete all the work. It's a 343 4-speed car. I tried to keep the car looking as stock as possible. I'm also including a "before" pic. Chris Sorensen - Minneapolis, MN
